visually, the site is done. I’ve still got to get 3 things working:

set up personal blogs
get avatars working
add borders (least priority)

added an activity section on left column that has a function which calls up the most popular articles based on hit count or comment count. I can’t remember which.

Fixed the static link to the forum on the top navigational bar. I had to sleep on it.

Finally, I may have found a suitable way to set up personal blogs. Still working on it. current workaround is to add a function which calls all the posts by x author. For example, if you click on the author’s name in the post, it will take you to a page which shows all posts by that author.

I’ve made static links on the right column for the current posting members. Working on a php script to do this dynamically so I don’t have to manually edit it. every time.
